Add. Defs too many to name. All indicted for shooting George Dykes (federal soldier), causing his death. Unclear what happened to other Defs, but jury convicted Crawford (rebel soldier under Gen. Vaughn) of voluntary manslaughter. This is Civil War case. Dykes recently paroled by Confederate authorities at Richmond. One witness saw rebel scout, commanded by Capt. George Ross, going to/from where killing occurred; said locality where Dykes was killed was disputed ground.
