Landers charged with making as assault and battery upon Jonah Henderson by shooting him in and upon the head. The bullet went in the corner of his left eye and came out the right temple, making him blind in both eyes. He was shot in the cherry orchard picking some cherries. The exhibit includes a beautiful illustration of the scene of the crime with cherry trees and a springhouse. Landers was convicted of assault with intent to commit voluntary manslaughter; he was sentenced to 2 years in penitentiary.
