Pryor signed note in Craighead's favor for $1642.36 in Confederate notes, to buy land (on which he now resides) from Wm Griffith. Pryor says during war (when note fell due), Craighead left home, going beyond Tennessee River, south of Confederate lines. Craighead sent msg to Pryor's brother Jackson to send him pymt at new location, but when Jackson tried to deliver pymt, Craighead no longer there, so delivered pymt to Craighead's daughter, who refused to receive it. Dispute re valuation of Confed notes.
