Additional defendant: First National Bank of Chattanooga. In 1919, the defendant delivered a life insurance policy to the plaintiff and his wife, Beula Roberson, who died shortly after. The plaintiff surrendered both policies to one Charles L. Lee, an agent of the defendant, who declined to pay the value of the policy upon the life of the plaintiff, stating that it had no cash value. He later learned the policy had a cash value of $145.09 from premiums. The bank later made a check, but it never came.
