Foster got judgment against Steels & L. B. Saffell, satisfying same by sale of negro girl Harriet (as property of Wm M. Steel), but Wm's father-in-law Warren claimed he purchased her from Steel years ago, a claim Foster alleges is fraudulent. Other people/places mentioned: Louisville Merchandisery, where Steels & Warren were allegedly dba partners, when there was a "personal blow-up."

Pla. got judgment against McCulley for costs of prior suit by McCulley, who had 4/7 interest in land he sold to Blankenship for which money still owed. Pla. say McCulley preparing to leave state to avoid paying Pla., so asking court to attach notes Blankenship gave McCulley, so Pla. can secure debt McCulley owes Pla.. Add. Case to determine the rights of the parties to ascertain whether at the time of the execution of the bill of sale of two slaves in the pleadings mentioned and described by wife of defendant had a separate estate in the two slaves ins aid bill of sales mentioned so as to make it necessary to the conveyance of the title of the two slaves that she should unite in the execution of the bill of sale.

Incomplete file. Case appears to involve dispute over sale to Alfred McConnell of brick house & 2 lots in East Maryville where, at that time, Major G. W. Hutsell was living (known as Hutsell house). McConnell failed to pay balance of purchase price so judgment entered for same and property ordered sold to satisfy judgment.

Hardin transferred tract of land to Wilson in exchange for Wilson paying Hardin's debts to Edward George, John Baxter, & W. W. Howard. Wilson never paid debts, however.
