View Entry 1888 James & Robert B. McKinley v. H. M. Ammonett Putnam Land and Title Dispute

James and Robert McKinley sue Ammonett for enclosing a quarter of an acre of their land, which they claim to have owned for years. Ammonett had previously sued them for trespass, claiming he had owned land for 7 years. McKinleys claim Ammonett's title to the land is vague and void, saying their title is older and better. McKinleys want to repossess the land and have Ammonett restrained from trespassing again. Four folders for case.

Plaintiff was an apprentice of defendant and continued to live with defendant after the apprenticeship ended under the promise of good wages. Defendant failed to supply good wages. Plaintiff brings suit for a breach of contract for labor preformed.

Ditty, admr. of R. Dyer, dec. & L. E. Martin. In April 1868, plaintiff conveyed to defendant a tract of 10 acres of land which included a grist and saw mill for the purpose of securing the payment of several debts. Hyder was appointed trustee to carry out conditions of the deed trust.
